Starting August 15th we will begin a new sermon series in the book of Ephesians. In this series we will focus on one word: LOVE. In the opening chapter of this book Paul writes to the church in Ephesus and reminds them that God loves and cares about us so much that he sent his own son, one who is called the Beloved.
God's love for us is so powerful, so unique, so otherworldy that he sent his own Son, the beloved, to walk the earth as a man and then die the death that we all deserved. For this reason we also call Jesus the Beloved. We see him as the sacrificial savior who embodies God's love and shows us how passionate our God is for us.
Over the next 6 weeks this series will teach us more about God's love, but it will also be a chance for us to explore the love that we have for others. How well are we loving our neighbor? Are we truly compassionate and sacrificial towards others, the same way Jesus is towards us. Can we truly look into the world and say about those we know, you are my beloved because God has sent me to serve you?
These questions and more will be explored in this series.
